This person will contribute to our success by managing our general ledger accountants. This person is responsible for facilitating month end closing, reconciliations, and analytical review.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Management of general ledger accountants
Workload distribution and review of work performed for quality and accuracy
Guidance and training on accounting and system procedures
Review and approval of journal entries
Perform annual reviews
Facilitates month end closing, preparing periodic reporting schedules and disclosures, and in the year end audit process
Ensures proper accounting of general ledger transactions
Prepares monthly general ledger reconciliations and related journal entries, as assigned
Prepare bank reconciliations, reviews reconciliations and approve related journal entries for posting
Identifies process and internal control weaknesses and work with controller to develop and implement solutions
Performs other duties as assigned
Regular, reliable attendance required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does have supervisory responsibilities. One must be able to supervise and provide training to subordinate GL staff. Must be able to mentor, coach, and provide timely feedback to staff within their scope of supervision.

Must have a thorough understanding of general ledger, GAAP and ability to research related issues
Must possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and basic to intermediate skills in MS Word and Outlook
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment
Must be detail-oriented, with good organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated, with high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college
A minimum of four (4) years of accounting experience
At least two (2) years of supervisory experience
