Operating the Cherry Picker: The primary duty is to safely operate the cherry picker forklift to move vertically and horizontally within the warehouse.
Loading and Unloading: Cherry picker operators may be responsible for loading and unloading materials from trucks and storage racks using the forklift.
Picking and Packing: Often pick items from high shelves or racking systems and pack them for shipping or storage.
Inventory Control: Maintaining accurate inventory records by tracking the movement of goods within the warehouse.
Safety: Ensuring that safety protocols are followed rigorously while operating the cherry picker to prevent accidents.
Routine Maintenance: Conducting basic maintenance and inspections of the cherry picker to ensure it's in proper working condition. Communication: Cooperating with other warehouse staff to fulfill orders and maintain efficient warehouse operations.
Organization: Keeping the warehouse organized, which involves returning the cherry picker to its designated area, storing materials properly, and labeling items accurately.
Quality Control: Ensuring the quality of items picked and reporting any damaged goods.
Reporting: Reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
Adherence to Regulations: Complying with local, state, and federal regulations regarding forklift operation and workplace safety.
Training: Participating in training programs to stay updated on operating procedures and safety guidelines. It's crucial for a cherry picker operator in a warehouse to be well-trained, safety-conscious, and experienced in operating the equipment.
