Quality Control:

  • Inspects all production arrival for quality/physical count and size.
  • Quality control: Assists that the stock is properly rotated on FIFO (first-in-first-out) method basis.
  • Assists that all product is properly stored in refrigerated areas and iced prior to the end of the work shift.
  • That all receiving is in accordance with physical counts on bill of lading and packing slip to assure accuracy on purchase order.
  • Helps with re-inspects all return product from drivers and reports any disposition and inventory adjustments.
  • Assists with daily production schedule with Distribution Coordinator at the start of the workday and discusses shortages and discrepancies regarding orders.
  • Helps the Quality Control Supervisor and Operations Manager with proper HACCP procedures are followed as per company plan.


Receiving:

  • Unload the vendor’s truck.
  • Check the condition of the product. 
  • Rejects the product at this time if product quality is poor or if temperature exceeds our limit.
  • Identifies the vendor.
  • Identifies the fish type.
  • Checks the condition of the fish.
  • Identifies the temperature of the fish.
  • Checks to see if their ice in the container.
  • Pays close attention to the shipment and inspections the product to determine if any of the above procedures fail.
  • Works closely with the supervisor and immediately reports any discrepancies to determine if the shipment must be rejected.
  • Check the condition of the truck and complete the truck condition report.
  • Identifies the name of the vendor.
  • Checks the truck for cleanliness.
  • Identifies the temperature of the truck.
  • Verifies if the truck is warm and notifies the supervisor prior to going any further in the process.
  • Identifies if the refrigeration unit is running in the truck. 
  • Count cases or boxes.
  • Identifies if the case or box count is different from the delivery ticket note the discrepancy on the deliver ticket.
  • Signs the delivery ticket or invoice with date and time included.
  • Moves product to refrigerated area.


Shipping:

  • Maintain accurate records of items shipped and received.
  • Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Receive items according to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Communicate incoming and outgoing status to appropriate internal customers and managers.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.
  • Ensure effective tracking of shipments.
  • Ensure best relationship possible between sales, customers and the daily warehouse needs.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
  • Unload items to be stocked in warehouses and or storage yards.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Perform domestic and international shipping activities.
  • Package and stock finished fish products.
  • Operates powered industrial forklift to transport inventory, unload incoming stock and load orders.
  • Pulls and stages orders for shipment.
  • Fill and transact work orders, purchase orders and sales orders.
  • Perform cycle counts.
  • All other duties as assigned.
